Lives of Nelson : Keswick, England, [ca. 1813].

Bound unsigned holograph manuscript draft of the Life of Nelson which was first published in London in 1813. Contains author's corrections and four slips of notes tipped in. Undated inscription on front endpaper by Southey to his daughter Katharine states that it was the first draft of the work and the manuscript from which it was printed in the Quarterly Review. Six news clippings and one autograph manuscript note in an unidentified hand dating from August 1864 and April 1877 relating to Southey's daughters are laid in.
